Europe 2015
About this work
Between deconstruction and reconstruction, the various artworks of Samuel Coisne evolve constantly into uniquely poetic postmodern artworks. The materials used belong to the realm of totally ordinary “objects”; in this particular case the map of Europe is entirely made of tissue. With a remarkable craftsmanship using a pieces of tissue and some needles, Samuel Coisne succeeds in creating an unique map of Europe in 3D perspective. Europe 2015 refers to the European Union as it was then but also today: scattered, ever changing and constantly evolving.
