Jean Giraud, who worked under the pseudonym “Moebius” or “Gir”, is a legendary cartoonist and author of comics, born in 1938 in Nogent-sur-Marne, and died in 2012, in Paris. From 1954, he began his technical training at the Applied Arts in Paris before becoming the assistant of Joseph Gillain.
His Blueberry series, was created in 1963 in collaboration with Jean-Michel Charlier. Meanwhile, under the pseudonym of Moebius, he developed a unique and innovative style which he applied to science fiction, as shown not only by the magazine Métal Hurlant and the publishing house Les Humanoïdes Associés but also in series such as L’Incal (1980) . In 1997, he launched his own publishing house Productions / Stardom.
