Sophie Vanderstraeten  (born in Tournai, BE), is a young artist, formerly student at the School of Beaux Arts Saint-Luc, based in Tournai (BE). She works currently as an art professor at the same school. She gets the inspiration for her drawings by events that occur in every day life: an environment, a particular atmosphere,  a person, an attitude, a peculiar light, …  She perceives drawing as a means of personal expression, but also as a discipline : a technique, methodical and precise.
