About Godelieve Vandamme

Biography

After her graduation in Law, Philosophy at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels, (BE) and in International Relations at the Johns Hopkins University, Bologna, (IT), Godelieve Vandamme pursued a carrier as a legal advisor in international organizations, NGO’s and administrative jurisdictions for about 15 years. She then got back to study arts in the known art school ENSAV La Cambre, Brussels, (BE) and obtained her Master in 2003. Since then she pursues for a period over more than 10 years an artistic career both in Belgium and abroad. Among her numerous exhibitions in Belgium and abroad it is worth mentioning: her solo exhibition « L’écart et la différence« , Maison Lismonde, Linkebeek, 2018 (BE); her participation to the group exhibition « The right to be human« , Museum of Contemporary Art Thessaloniki, 2017 (GR) and her participation to the group exhibition « Paysages de  Belgique« , Museum of Ixelles, Brussels, 2015 (BE). In 2017 Godelieve Vandamme had the unique opportunity to integrate a work of art permanently in a newly built building, named « La Laiterie » in the Josaphat Park, located in Schaarbeek, Brussels (BE). More recently, in 2019, Godelieve Vandamme has been selected to pass a two months summer residency in the prestigious Swiss artist residency NAIRS, Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst, Engadina, (CH).
